Kar 3 nagrade na Videomaniji!

Super novica! Na letošnji Videomaniji, festivalu mladinske filmske ustvarjalnosti, sta kar dva filma, ki sta nastala na naših filmskih delavnicah, prejela glavni nagradi. Tudi mi smo začeli na Videomaniji, zdaj pa lahko ponosno predstavimo mlade ustvarjalce, ki so pod našim mentorstvom ustvarili filme, ki se lahko pohvalijo s kar tremi nagradami, prav tako pa je poleg dveh nagrajenih med 14 najboljših, od skupno 54 prijavljenih, bil uvrščen še en film z naše delavnice - film Flika ekipe Roka Bratkoviča.

Film Alter, katerega avtor je ekipa Tilena Bergleza, je prejel tako glavno nagrado, kot tudi nagrado mladinske žirije. Prikazuje zgodbo dveh svetov, realnosti in fikcije, in posameznik se je znašel nekje vmes. Film Vse za tebe, žveplo moje, katerega avtor je Filip Ljevar in njegova ekipa, pa prav tako glavno nagrado. Prikazuje zgodbo o razredni lepotici, ki izkorišča piflarja, vendar ta na koncu le spozna njeno igro in naredi zadevi konec.

Nagrajene filme pa si lahko spodaj tudi ogledate. :)

Great news! On this year's Videomanija, the Festival of Youth Filmmaking, two films that were made in our film workshop, got the main award. We began our work on Videomanija aswell and now we can proudly represent young filmmakers that got three awards, their mentor was our crew. Besides two awarded films, there was also another one film Flika from Rok Bratkovič and his team, that was chosen and ranked among the 14th best films, of alltogether 54.

Film Alter, whose author is the team of Tilen Berglez, got the main award and the award of youth jurry. The story is about two worlds, the real one and the fiction, and the person is trappet between them. Film Vse za tebe, žveplo moje, whose author is Filip Ljevar & his team, got the main reward aswell. The story is about the most beautiful girl in class that exploits a nerd, but at the end he realises her intentions and stops her.

Projekt SNFP uspešno zaključen

V četrtek, 8.5.2014, smo v kinu Udarnik uspešno izpeljali zadnjo stopnjo projekta Skrivnosti neodvisne filmske produkcije, zaključno prireditev z okroglo mizo na temo filmske vzgoje v obstoječem izobraževalnem sistemu ter s premiero dveh filmov, ki sta nastala v tretji fazi projekta.

V prvem delu, ob 19h, smo prisluhnili okrogli mizi na temo filmska vzgoja v obstoječem izobraževalnem sistemu, katere gostje so bili predstavniki v projekt vključenih izobraževalnih institucij. Vsi udeleženci so se strinjali, da je spodbujanje filmske izobrazbe med mladimi zelo pomembno. Povedali so, da v šolskem sistemu zraven glasbene in likovne umetnosti zelo pogrešajo filmsko umetnost, zato film mladim poskušajo predstaviti v okviru posameznih predmetov ali dodatnih obšolskih dejavnosti, kot ne sistematizirano, ampak projektno delo. Takšna dejavnost je predstavljena na različne načine, nekateri gledajo in analizirajo filme, drugi jih ustvarjajo. Vloga naše ekipe na okrogli mizi pa je bila, da se predstavniki različnih izobraževalnih institucij, ki se trudijo film približati mladim, spoznajo med seboj, si izmenjajo izkušnje in predvsem, da se začnejo med seboj povezovati in sodelovati. Posledično se bodo spoznali tudi dijaki, ki jih filmsko ustvarjanje še posebej zanima, in s tem bodo imeli boljše možnosti za skupno ustvarjanje, kar je pa naša glavna želja in cilj.

V drugem delu, ob 20h, je sledila premiera dveh filmov, Preslišano in Drop by drop, kaplja čez rob, ki sta nastala v tretji fazi projekta. Avtorji filmov so zagnani dijaki in študenti, ki so skozi projekt spoznali nastanek filma od ideje do premiere ter svoje znanje uspešno uporabili in predstavili v svojih izdelkih. Po predvajanju je sledila še podelitev diplom vsem mladim ustvarjalcem ter pogostitev in druženje v predverju kina Udarnik.

Veseli smo, da se je projekt SNFP uspešno zaključil. Tako odziv na projektu kot tudi na zaključni prireditvi je bil dober, projekt je požel veliko zanimanja in pozitivnega odziva. :)

On Thursday, 8th of May, we successfully completed our project Secrets of independent film production in the cinema Udarnik. The final event consisted a round table on the topic of film education in the existing education system and the premiere of two films that were created in the third phase of the project.

In the first part, at 19h, we listened to the round table on the topic of film education in the existing education system, guests were representatives of educational institutions that were involved in the project. All participants agreed that the promotion of film education among young people is very important. They said that they miss a film art in our school system, they only have music and fine art, so they try to represent the film art to young people in the context of other courses or in extra after-school activities, such as a project work. This activity is represented in different ways, as watching and analising films or as cerating them. The role of our team at the roundtable was that the representatives of various educational institutions, who are trying to bring film closer to young people, get to know each other, exchange experiences and, above all, to begin to interconnect and work together. As a result, students, that are particularly interested in filmmaking, will get to know each other and this will have a better chance of co-creation, which is our main goal and desire.

In the second part, at 8 pm, there was a premiere of two films that were created in the third phase. The title of the first film is Preslišano, and the title of the second film is Drop by drop. Authors are enthusiastic students, who get to know the whole filmmaking proces, from the idea to the premiere and successfully used and presented in their skills in their products. After that all young artist got their own diplomas for their hard work. In the end there was a banquet in the cinema lobby.

We are pleased that the project SIFP was completed successfully. Thus, response to the project, as well as to the closing ceremony, was good, the project got a lot of positive responses. :)

Zaključna prireditev projekta SNFP

Projekt Skrivnosti neodvisne filmske produkcije se bliža koncu. Za nami so štirje pestri in zanimivi meseci filmske šole, ki je obsegala tri faze, od teoretične prve faze, preko simulacije snemanja v drugi fazi, do tretje, praktične faze s celotnim potekom snemanja od ideje do premiere. Celoten projekt pa zaključujemo v tem tednu z zaključno prireditvijo, ki se bo odvijala v četrtek, 8.5.2014 ob 19h v kinu Udarnik.

Zaključna prireditev bo sestavljena iz dveh delov, ob 19h se bo odvijala okrogla miza na temo filmske vzgoje v obstoječem izobraževalnem sistemu, gostje katere bodo predstavniki vključenih izobraževalnih institucij. Pogovor bo vodila Nina Hojnik. Po tem pa ob 20h sledi premiera dveh filmov, ki sta nastala v tretji fazi našega projekta, ustvarili so ju zagnani in idej polni dijaki in študenti. Prvi film ima naslov Preslišano, katerega avtorji so Nik Belec, Branimir Belović, Zala Pia Lipičnik, Klavdija Lipnik, Gregor Lorbek, Tija Prislan in Tevž Rogina, drugi pa Drop by drop, katerega avtorji so Miha Horvat, Toni Konrad, Klemen Kopina, Hana Pohajda, Marcel Repina in Urijel Vrhovec. Za konec sledi podelitev diplom.

Projekt Skrivnosti neodvisne flmske produkcije je do zdaj naš največji projekt, zelo smo zadovoljni z rezultati, ki jih je prinesel ter seveda ponosni na vse mlade filmarje, ki so se zagnano prebili od prve pa vse do tretje faze. V četrtek pa si lahko njihov trud in končni izdelek tudi sami premierno ogledate. Se vidimo ob 19h v Udarniku! :)

Project The secrets of independent film production is coming to an end. There were four varied and interesting months of film school, which consisted of three phases, the first phase was the phase of theory, through simulation shooting in the second phase, to the third, the practical phase of the entire course of the recording, from the idea to the premiere. The entire project is finalizing in this week, culminating in an event which will be held on Thursday, 8.5.2014 at 7 pm in the cinema Udarnik.

The closing event will consist of two parts, at 7 pm there will be a round table about film education in the existing educational system, guests will be representatives of educational institutions. Round table will be moderated by Nina Hojnik. After that, at 8 pm there will be a premiere of two films that were created by enthusiastic students in the third phase of our project. The title of the first film is Preslišano, whose authors are so Nik Belec, Branimir Belović, Zala Pia Lipičnik, Klavdija Lipnik, Gregor Lorbek, Tija Prislan and Tevž Rogina, and the title of the second film is Drop by drop, whose authors are Miha Horvat, Toni Konrad, Klemen Kopina, Hana Pohajda, Marcel Repina and Urijel Vrhovec.

Secrets of independent film production is so far our biggest project, we are very pleased with the results and of course very proud of all young filmmakers, who have eagerly get through from the first to the third phase. Pridi in posnemi svoj film!

Ponovno smo snemali! Oziroma tokrat smo to le simulirali. V okviru II. faze našega vzgojno-izobraževalnega projekta Skrivnosti neodvisne filmske produkcije smo več kot 250 dijakom in ostalim obiskovalcem predstavili filmski set in jih popeljali v zakulisje snemanja. 17., v amfiteatru šolskega centra Ptuj, in februarja, v kinu Udarnik v Mariboru, smo skozi simulacijo snemanja predstavili številne poklice in posamezne naloge s katerimi se člani filmske ekipe spoprijemajo. Predstavili, in seveda tudi uporabili, smo različne dele opreme, vse od DSLR kamere, do vozička CamDolly, in tako na odru posneli 2 minutni igrani film, ki ga je za zaključek Tim podložil še s glasbo.

S tem smo II. fazo projekta Skrivnosti neodvisne filmske produkcije, vendar to še zdaleč ni konec. Konec marca prihaja na spored še III. faza projekta: Filmska delavnica, na kateri bodo udeleženci posneli svoj film.

Delavnica bo potekala od 17.3. do 31.3.2014 z vmesnimi prostimi dnevi v popoldanskem času. Udeleženci bodo najprej spoznali teorijo filmskega jezika, naučili se bodo kako napisati scenarij in kako upravljati s kamero. Na koncu pa bodo pridobljeno znanje uporabili v praksi in posneli svoj film. Udeležba na delavnici je brezplačna.

We were filming again! But this time, we were "only" simulating. Within 2nd phase of our educational project Secrets of independent film production, we presented a film set to more than 250 students and took them behind the scenes. Our first stop was amphitheater of Educational center Ptuj on 17th February. After that we finished in February at cinema Udarnik in Maribor, Slovenia. In 90 minutes on stage, we put under the spot lights every member of film crew and presented his or hers job. Together we made 2 minute long fiction film. Of course we also used various pieces of film equipment; from DSLR cameras, lights, to the CamDolly.

2nd phase of Secrets of independent film production is finished, but our project is still far from the end. In the end of March we will start the 3rd phase of the project; filmmaking workshop.

The workshop will be held from 17.3. to 31.3.2014. Participants will learn the basics of film language, they will write their own film script and of course, shoot their own movie. Participation in the workshop is free of charge.

I. faza SNFP zaključena

Naš, do sedaj najobširnejši, vzgojno-izobraževalni projekt Skrivnosti neodvisne filmske produkcije, je že v polnem teku. V četrtek, 6. februarja 2014, smo s predavanjem na III. gimnaziji Maribor, zaključili prvo fazo našega projekta, ki je obsegala predavanja na številnih srednjih šolah v Mariboru in okolici. Skozi predavanja smo več kot 1000 dijakom in študentom predstavili in jih popeljali skozi filmski svet.

Naše skrivnosti pa se že s polno paro pribljižujejo drugi fazi projekta; Simulaciji snemanja. Simulacija se bo izvajala v dveh terminih in sicer 17. februarja 2014 ob 13:20 v amfiteatru šolskega centra Ptuj, ter februarja v kinu Udarnik v Mariboru. Vsi cineasti, cinefili in filmski ljubitelji pozor! Vljudno vabljeni na simulacija snemanja v kinu Udarnik v Mariboru, saj bo odprta za vse obiskovalce.

Kaj pa simulacija snemanja pravzaprav pomeni?

"Filmska ekipa bo na odru prikazala in predstavila potek snemalnega dne na primeru snemanja ene scene filma. Vsak član snemalne ekipe bo razložil svojo vlogo pri projektu. Preko razlaganja specifičnih korakov snemanja ene scene, bomo še dodatno pojasnili postopek nastajanja filma. Med celotnim postopkom pa bo lahko občinstvo na platnu v živo spremljalo kaj snema kamera."

Our , so far the most complex , educational project Secrets of independent film production, is already in full swing . On Thursday, 6th of February 2014, we had completed the first phase of our project with a lecture on III. Gymnasium Maribor. First phase, which included lectures on a number of secondary schools in Maribor and in surrounding area , attended more than 1000 students.

We just finished first phase of the project, but we are not taking any break. Second phase, the simulation of the shooting day is approaching with full speed. Students and all cineastes, cinephiles and other film lovers will have two chances to catch the simulation. Firstly, we will visit gymnasium Ptuj on 17th of February 2014, and secondly, we will come to our home town art cinema Udarnik in Maribor.

But what does this "simulation of the day on set" actually means?

Our film crew will simulate the film set on stage. Every crew member will present his or hers role on the set of a fiction film and give audience a complete overview of film making process on set.

Skrivnosti neodvisne filmske produkcije

V Film Factory, ob podpori Slovenskga filmskega centra in programa Mladi v akciji, pripravljamo nov, do sedaj naš najobširnejši, vzgojno-izobraževalni projekt: Skrivnosti neodvisne filmske produkcije.

Projekt filmskega opismenjevanja mladih vključuje 14 vzgojno-izobraževalnih in kulturnih ustanov, 9 predavanj, 2 simulaciji snemanja, eno filmsko delavnico in okoli 2000 mladih. Namenjen je dijakom, študentom, profesorjem, cinefilom in vsem mladim po srcu. Potekal bo od januarja do maja na različnih lokacijah v treh fazah, skozi katere se bodo udeleženci iz pasivnega poslušalca in gledalca razvili v aktivnega, mislečega, kritičnega, energičnega, "na filmskem setu kričečega", filmskega ustvarjalca.

V prvi fazi bodo udeleženci skozi predavanje in projekcijo kratkih filmov pridobili širok pregled nad filmskim ustvarjanjem, žanri, zvrstmi, industrijo, distribucijo, festivali ter filmskim svetom in kulturo na sploh. V drugi fazi bodo udeleženci prvič doživeli snemalni dan oz. simulacijo snemalnega dne. Filmska ekipa bo na odru prikazala in predstavila potek snemalnega dne na primeru snemanja ene scene igranega filma. V tretji fazi, do katere se bodo priborili le najpogumnejši in najbolj zagnani, pa bodo udeleženci, od ideje do premiere, sproducirali čisto svoj film.

Začetek projekta se neustavljivo pribljižuje, mi pa postajamo vse bolj navdušeni.

We at Film Factory, with the support of the Slovenian Film Centre and the program Youth in action, are preparing a new, so far our most comprehensive, educational project; The Secrets of independent film production. The project, which will last from January and all the way up to the beginning of summer, will be held in different locations in three phases, through which participants will develop from passive listeners and viewers into an active, thinking critically, energetic, "on the film set, screaming" filmmakers. There will be about 2000 young participants and 14 educational and cultural institutions.

In the first phase , participants will gain a broad overview of filmmaking , genres , industry , distribution , festivals and film world and culture in general through lectures and screening of short films. In the second phase , participants will experience the first shooting day... in other words; a simulation of a shooting day. Our film crew will simulate the film set on stage. Every crew member will present his or hers role on the set of a fiction film.

In the third phase, which only the bravest and most enthusiastic will reach, participants will, produce their own film, from the idea to the premiere.

Start of the project is irresistible approaching and we are getting more and more excited.

Premiera projekta Snemamo!

Vzgojno-izobraževalni projekt Snemamo!, sestavljen iz delavnice igranega, animiranega in dokumentarnega filma, je prišel h koncu. Na zaključni prireditvi, v petek 6. decembra 2013 v kinu Udarnik, so bili predvajani vsi, na delavnicah nastali, filmi, med njimi tudi kratki igrani film Odkleni me, ki je nastal na delavnici igranega filma pod okriljem našega mentorstva.

Film govori o Mihi, ki se rad igra detektiva. Med igro najde ključ, ki zanj postane nov izziv in detektiv se odpravi reševat uganko. Vlogo Mihe je odigral najmlaši član delavnice, trinajstletni Tevž Rogina, ki se je s filmsko igro srečal prvič. Poleg Tevža pa sta pred kamero nastopila še Monika Zorko in Igor Malić. Tehnično ekipo za kamero pa so sestavljali Lučka Goričan, Iztok Lazar, Filip Ljevar, Boštjan Selinšek in Uroš Strelec, ki so se kot ekipa odlično ujeli.

Ne pozabite si ogledati filma in dokumentarca o nastajanju filma (spodaj).

Pred premiero filmov je v Udarniku potekala okrogla miza na temo pomena filmskega izobraževanja v mestu Maribor. Po projekciji je sledila podelitev priznanj avtorjem nastalih filmov za sodelovanje pri projektu Snemamo!, večer pa se je zaključil s pogostitvijo in zabavo z živo glasbo.

Celoten zaključek projekta Snemamo! je bil uvrščen kot del festival Enimation days 2013 (Education + aNIMATION), ki je potekal od 6. do 8. decembra v Zavodu Udarnik.

Educational project Snemamo! (Shooting!) , consisting of fiction film, animation and documentary film workshops , has come to an end. At the closing ceremony , on Friday 6th of December 2013, at the Udarnik cinema in Maribor were screened all films created during workshops, including short fiction film "Unlock me" , which was created on our fiction film workshop.

The film is about Miha who likes to play detective . During the game he finds a key that becomes a new challenge and a riddle for him. Tevž Rogina played the main role, Monika Zorko and Igor Malić also appear in the film. Lučka Goričan, Iztok Lazar, Filip Ljevar, Boštjan Selinšek in Uroš Strelec were the technical crew behind the camera. Do not forget to watch the film and the making of documentary (below in Slovene only).

Before the premiere of the film, cinema Udarnik held a round table discussion about the importance of film education in the city of Maribor.

The screening of the films and closing of the project Snemamo! was included in a program as part of the festival Enimation days 2013 ( Education + Animation ) , which was held from 6th to 8th December at the cinema Udarnik .

Nedeljska juhica

Na Drugi gimnaziji v Mariboru je pod našim mentorstvom ponovno potekala filmska šola. Tudi tokrat so se dijakom z druge pridružili tudi udeleženci z drugih srednjih in osnovnih šol. Na dveh snemalnih dneh smo posneli dva kratka igrana filma. "Vse za tebe žveplo moje" je romantična komedija, ki govori o Maticu, ki se zaljubi v napačno punco. V črni komediji z naslovom "Knedli", pa se družinski prepir konča z dobro domačo juhico z knedli. Delavnica se bo zaključila s pogovorom z ustvarjalci in s premiero obeh filmov, ki bo v četrtek, 5. decembra 2013, ob 19 uri na Drugi gimnaziji Maribor v učilnici PD1. Vstopnine ni. Vljudno vabljeni.

Another film workshop, another two shooting days and another two brand new fiction films. Romantic comedy entitled "Everything for you sulfur mine" talks about student falling in love with a wrong girl. In black comedy "Dumplings", a family fight ends up with a hot delicious homemade soup with dumplings. Film workshop, which was mentored by Film Factory and organized by II. Gymnasium Maribor, attended over 10 participants from different primary and high schools. Premiere and the closing event with Q&A with authors and mentors, will be on Thursday, 5th of December 2013, at 19h on II. Gymnasium Maribor. Entry free. See you!

Kaj odpira ključ?

To je vprašanje na katerega išče odgovor protagonist kratkega igranega filma, ki so ga posneli udeleženci 11. filmske šole Film Factory.

Tokrat je filmska šola potekala kot del projekta Snemamo!, v sodelovanju z Društvom za razvoj filmske kulture. Projekt Snemamo!, ki je podprt s strani Evropske prestolnice mladih – Maribor 2013, je sestavljen iz delavnice animiranega, dokumentarnega in igranega filma.

Ekipa Film Factory je prevzela organizacijo in mentorstvo na več kot teden dni trajajoči delavnici igranega filma. Udeleženci so zraven teorije spoznali vse produkcije faze filma in seveda, posneli tudi svoj kratki film. Film, je trenutno v fazi montaže. Premierno pa bo predvajan na zaključku projekta Snemamo!, ki bo potekal v petek, 6. Decembra 2013 ob 20. uri, v kinu Udarnik v Mariboru. Še pred tem ob 18. uri pa ste vabljeni na okroglo mizo o pomenu filmskega izobraževanja mladih. Fotografije iz delavnice sledij spodaj.

What is this key for? This is the question which drives forward the protagonist from short fiction film, shot on our 11th Film Factory workshop.

This workshop was organized in collaboration with “Društvo za razvoj filmske kulture” as a part of project “Snemamo!” (Let's shoot!), which is supported by European Youth capital 2013. “Snemamo!” is build from workshop of fiction, documentary and animated film.

Film Factory crew organized and mentored the fiction film workshop. Participants gained theoretical and practical knowledge of filmmaking. They shot a short film, which will premiere on closing ceremony on Friday, 6th of December 2013 at 20h, in cinema Udarnik, Maribor, Slovenia. Before that at 18h you are invited to the panel about the importance of youth film education. You can find photos from the workshop below.

Filmski večer na FERI

Naši filmi in filmi nekaterih naših delavničarjev se bodo predvajali v okviru Filmskih večerov na FERI, ki ga organizira Inštitut za Medijske komunikacije na Fakulteti za elektrotehniko, računalništvo in informatiko v Mariboru. Prvo predvajanje bo že v sredo, 16.10.2013 ob 19. uri na katerem se bosta predvajala filma Missing the Moment in dokumentarec o snemanju le tega imenovan "Behind the Moment". Predvajanja se bo udeležila tudi ekipa. Ostale termine lahko preverite tukaj ali na uradni FB strani filmskih večerov. Se vidimo na FERI! :)

Our films and some of the films that were made during our film workshops will be presented at the "Film evenings at FERI" which are organised by the institute for Media Communication at the Faculty for electrical engineering and computer sciences in Maribor. The first screening will take place on Wednesday the 16th of October at 19h. The screening will feature our film Missing the Moment and also the making of documentary of this film called Behind the Moment. The crew of the film will also be present to answer your questions. Filmska šola Film Factory: enajstič

Filmska šola Film Factory v sodelovanju z Društvom za razvoj filmske kulture vabi mlade filmske navdušence, da podrobneje spoznajo igrani film in se s snemanjem spoznajo v praksi. Delavnica bo potekala od 16. 10. 2013 do 21. 10. 2013 v prostorih Filmskega društva Film Factory v skupini 10 udeležencev. Delavnica je brezplačna. Delavnica je del projekta SNEMAMO!, ki je podprt s strani Evropske prestolnice mladih – Maribor 2013. SNEMAMO! smo zanimivi, izkušeni in zabavni mentorji. SNEMAMO! je kritično razmišljanje o času in prostoru, ki nas obdaja. SNEMAMO! je filmska zabava! SNEMAMO! je za vse udeležence popolnoma brezplačen! SNEMAMO! Akcija!

Mentorji prihajajo iz Filmskega društva Film Factory, ki je perspektivno društvo, katerega člani so energični in ambiciozni mladi. Poslanstvo društva je udejstvovanje na področju filma in videa, motivacija in posredovanje znanja na mlajše generacije ter popularizacija slovenskega filma in filmske kulture nasploh. Vabljeni!

Film association in cooperation with Društvom za razvoj filmske kulture is preparing a new fiction film workshop for youth and all other film enthusiasts as a part of the project "SNEMAMO!" which is a part of European Youth Capital - Maribor 2013 program. The workshop will be held in Maribor, Slovenia from 14.10.2013 till 21. 10. 2013. Film Factory se predstavi

V letošnjem maju smo ob kar dveh priložnostih predstavili naše društvo ter naše pretekle in aktualne projekte.

V torek, 14. maja 2013, smo v Gorici na Visoki šoli za umetnost, Univerze v Novi Gorici izvedli predavanje z naslovom »Dobre prakse na področju filma in animiranega filma«. Poudarek predavanja je bil na pomembnosti filmskih festivalov, izobraževalnih platform ter mreženja, na primeru našega projekta v razvoju; 3D animiranega filma »Honey, can you take my human for a walk?«.

Omenjen projekt in Film Factory na splošno pa smo predstavili tudi kulturologom na Fakulteti za družbene vede, Univerze v Ljubljani. Predavanje, ki je bilo v sredo, 29. maja 2013, se je odvilo v okviru društva kulturologov Kult.co.

This May we had two opportunities to present Film Factory and our past and current projects.

On Tuesday, 14th of May 2013, we held a lecture at School of Arts, University of Nova Gorica, with title “Good practice in field of film and animated film”. We talked about importance of film festivals, developing platforms and networking on case study of our new project in development; “Honey, can you take my human for a walk?”.

We presented Film Factory and our projects to students of cultural studies at Faculty of Social sciences in Ljubljana as well. Lecture was held on Wednesday, 29th of May 2013 and it was organized in framework of cultural studies association Kult.co.

Nagrado prejme…Julija in Romeo!

Z veseljem sporočamo, da so vsi štirje filmi, ki so jih dijaki Srednje šole Slovenska Bistrica posneli na naši filmski šoli, ki je potekala od lanskega novembra do januarja, prejeli srebrno priznanje na tekmovanja “Slovenščina ima dolg jezik, Književnost na filmu”. In ne samo to film Julija in Romeo je zasedel prvo mesto v kategoriji “1. in 2. letnik gimnazije”. Iskrene čestitke! Upamo, da bodo dijaki pridobljeno filmsko znanje uporabljali še naprej in posneli še kakšen film! Filme si boste kmalu lahko ogledali tukaj na našem blogu.

As you can remember, from last November till this January we held a film workshop for students of high school Slovenska Bistrica, Slovenia. We are happy to say that all four films made at the workshop received silver awards on the competition “Slovenian language has long tongue - Literature though film”. But this is not all; the film Julia and Romeo (Julija in Romeo) won the main award in the category “1st and 2nd grade of Gymnasium”. Congratulations to all! The films will soon be available here on our blog.

Filmska šola z Miho Hočevarjem

Filmska šola II. gimnazije Maribor se je pričela! Četrta edicija skupnih filmskih delavnic z Drugo gimnazijo bo potekala v novi preobleki, in sicer s strokovnim vodjo Miho Hočevarjem. Po prvem srečanju z učenci smo Film Factoryjevci polni dobrih vtisov in se že veselimo soustvarjanja njihovih filmov. II. gimnazija Maribor Film School has begun! This is the fourth time we are co-creating a film workshop with this school and this time is time for an upgrade. This time on board of the project we have a successful Slovenian film director, Miha Hočevar. After the first meeting with the students we are full of good impressions and we look forward to being mentors of their films. Romeo and Juliet at our film Workshop

Dijaki Srednje šole Slovenska Bistrica so izrazili željo po večjem poznavanju filmske umetnosti. Tukaj smo priskočili na pomoč mi, ki smo z veseljem posredovali naše filmsko znanje dijakom. Na filmski delavnici, ki se je začela že decembra bodo nastali štirje filmi. Filmi so bili posneti po literarnih predlogah, med njimi pa so tudi takšni, ki so produkcijsko zahtevnejši. Nekaj (ogromno :) slik s snemanj lahko najdete spodaj, filmi pa bodo na ogled v začetku naslednjega meseca. We held another film workshop, this time on high school in Slovenska Bistrica. We were happy to meet all of young enthusiasts eager to learn film language. Under our mentor-ship students made four films based on literature. The workshop already started in December, but won’t see finished films until the end of January. Premiera je kretenu uspela!

Premiere filma Kreten pred mano, ki je bila v četrtek, 25. 10. 2012, na Fakulteti za elektrotehniko računalništvo in informatiko v Mariboru, se je udeležilo kar precejšnje število obiskovalcev. Deset minutni film in »Blooperji« oz. Making of so gledalce dodobra nasmejali. Po ogledu filma so sledila številna vprašanja za ustvarjalce in mentorje filma, povečalo pa se je že tudi zanimanje za prihajajočo Film Factory filmsko delavnico. Film, ki je nastal na naši filmski delavnici "Od ideje do filma" s podporo Maribor 2012 - Evropske prestolnice kulture si lahko ogledate zgoraj. Pod postom pa si lahko ogledate tudi kratki film o tem kako je film nastal in seveda slike s premiere. Slike s snemanja pa lahko najdete v tem postu.

The premiere of the short film Kreten pred mano (Jerk in front of me), which took place on Thursday, 25th of October 2012, in Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Maribor, was a huge success. The screening hall was full and the ten minute long film made everybody laugh. The authors and mentors of the film even had a short Q and A after the screening. You can watch the whole film now on-line (on the top of the post) and also the Making of at the bottom of the post where you will also find some pictures from the premiere. Photos from the making of the film were published at this post.

Kreten na premieri

Ste že kdaj stali v vrsti? In vam je šel kreten pred vami blazno na živce? Kaj pa, če bi stali v vrsti s hipsterjem, nimfomanko, stonerjem in poslovnežem? Na to vprašanje poskuša odgovoriti kratki film Kreten pred mano, dokumedija oziroma parodija dokumentarcev o totalno banalnih stvareh.

Film, ki je nastal v okviru filmske delavnice Filmskega društva Film Factory s podporo Maribor 2012 - Evropske prestolnice kulture 2012, bo doživel svojo premiero v četrtek, 25. 10. 2012, ob 19.00 na Fakulteti za elektrotehniko računalništvo in informatiko v Mariboru.

Have you ever stood in line? Did you really hate the jerk in front of you? What if you would stand in line with a hipster, nymphomaniac, stoner and businessman? The film Kreten pred mano (Jerk in front of me) discuss this exact question. It is a parody, a mocumentary, of documentaries which talks about nothing but bullsh*t.

The film was shot during the FA Film Factory film workshop, with the support of Maribor 2012 – European capital of culture 2012.

The premiere of the film will be on Thursday, 25. of October 2012, at 19.00 in Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.

SCIM 2012 Workshop

Prav na SCiM, mednarodni študentski konferenci, ki spada med največje tovrstne festivale v Evropi, smo postali  mentorji že osemnajstega filma, ki je nastal na naših delavnicah. Mentorja na filmski delavnici SCiM sva bila Mitja in Mojca, Miha pa se je v tem času udeležil festivala SHQIP na Kosovem. Film nastal na SCiIM-u je večjezičen dokumentarec na temo aktivnega staranja in medgeneracijske solidarnosti, ki je bila tema celotne konference. Udeleženci filmske delavnice, ki prihajajo iz Španije, Slovaške, Madžarske in Romunije, so se s snemanjem filma srečali prvič. V 25 urah sva jim predstavila del osnov filmske teorije, skupaj smo dodelali idejo, posneli ter zmontirali film. Celotnega projekta so se lotili zelo zavzeto in tematiko skozi film predstavili iz različnih starostnih in nacionalnih perspektiv. 25 ur je za tako obširno zastavljen in tematsko obarvan projekt zelo malo. Šele, ko smo zadnji trenutek pritekli na prizorišče zaključne prireditve s končanim filmom na USB ključku, smo si vsi oddahnili ter uživali v projekciji in prijetni družbi. :D Filmček si lahko pogledate nad postom. At this years SCiM, the international student conference in Maribor, which is one of the biggest of its kind, we become mentors of the 18th short film that was made during our workshops. This time we were only two Mojca & Mitja because Miha had the pleasure of presenting us and Last Lunch at the film festival SHQIP in Kosovo. Film made during the workshop is a multi language documentary on the theme of active ageing and solidarity between generations which was also the theme of the conference. For the participants of the film workshop which were from Spain, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania this was their first experience with film-making. To make such a project in only in 25 hours is a big challenge but to do this in a foreign country on such a challenging theme it almost mission impossible. But it was possible because of their commitment and positive energy. Film is representing the theme from different generation and nationality perspectives. We worked really hard and till the last minute but than as we raced to the final ceremony with the film on a USB key and finally presented the film we realised it was all worth it. Workshops, workshops,..

Od 14.6. 2012 do 19.6. 2012 smo, s podporo Maribor 2012 - Evropske prestolnice kulture 2012, izvedli filmsko delavnico za vse, ki jih zanima filmsko ustvarjanje. Delavnice se je udeležilo lepo število znanja željnih udeležencev, ki so pod našim mentorstvom tekom delavnice posneli film. Ker so udeleženci, kot tudi mentorji, želeli čim boljši končni izdelek, se je delavnica večkrat zavlekla v pozne večerne ure. Na koncu je nastal super film, ki bo kmalu objavljen tudi na spletu. Ta teden pa že začnemo z novo filmsko delavnico, a več o tem kasneje.

From 14. 6. 2012 till 19. 6. 2012 we lead a workshop for all film making enthusiasts. The workshop was a part of the project Maribor 2012 - European Capitol of Culture 2012. There was a lovely number of participants, which made a short fiction film under our mentorship. A lot of times we worked late in the evening, because everybody really wanted to make the film as good as possible. At the end we got pretty awesome result. The film will be online soon. This week we are already starting a new one but more on this one soon.
